Abstract

268,445. Hayes, J. K.. Jan. 4, 1926. Return-tube boilers.-The furnace gases from a cylindrical boiler 8 are directed backwards and forwards through auxiliary heaters 4, 5 in communication with the boiler and arranged one directly below and others at the sides of the lower part of the boiler. The end flues 7 may direct the gases first through the side heaters and then through the bottom heater, or first through the bottom heater and then through the side heaters. The boiler and heaters may have an all-brick setting instead of the casings shown.
