Steam generators.-The spirit lamp for heating a toy steam-engine is so arranged that it may be fitted either to the end or to the side of the boiler in order that the engine may be used in a horizontal position as shown in Fig. 1, or in a vertical position as shown in Fig. 2. The heating lamp u forms a stand, and is provided with flanges v which slide on to metal strips d or d<1> secured to the boiler. A transverse tube o, Fig. 6, communicates with the fire-box m for use when the boiler is horizontal. In a modification, the heater u is pivoted to the boiler, and in a further modification it may be suspended from strips secured to the boiler.
