Abstract
238,427. Riley Stoker Co., Ltd., and Erith, C. Nov. 21, 1924. Air supply, heating. -The air for combustion in boiler furnaces is heated by passing it over heat transferring surfaces heated by exhaust steam from a number of sources and at different pressures or temperatures. A pair of air-heating chambers a, b is arranged at the back of or below a boiler furnace. The air drawn through the chambers by a fan c is heated by steam at different pressures supplied to the heating-units through inlets e, e<1>. Preferably the air is first passed over the unit in which the steam is at lower pressure. The fan may be arranged at the inlet of the heating-apparatus instead of at the outlet as shown.
