Abstract
238,213. Junkers, H. Aug. 8, 1924, [Convention date]. Benches, work.-For constructing hollow bodies such as the rear ends of aircraft fuselages, a rectangular girder 1 is pivotally mounted at its ends in trestles 3 and has adjustable members 4 for supporting the transverse frame members 6 of the body in their correct positions, the completed body being ultimately withdrawn from the girder without dismantling the latter. The girder may be rotated to give access to all parts as the longitudinals 7 and corrugated covering 10 are secured in position or it may be locked against rotation by a pin 9. The front part of the fuselage is constructed in an external cradle 11, Fig. 3, having push bolts 12 for holding the transverse frames 13 and longitudinals 14 in position, the covering being applied after removal from the cradle. The two parts of the fuselage are subsequently connected together.
