Abstract

238,043. Lucas, Ltd., J., Lucas, O., and Egginton, W. H. June 21, 1924. Gauge glasses. - A liquid level gauge suitable for petrol tanks is provided with an adjustable scale between the gauge glass and its casing. A vertical glass tube a is mounted in a metal socket b connected to a petrol tank. A cylindrical metal case c has a slotd to expose the tube, and another slot at the back through which projects a part i of a metal strip g having projections h which serve as a scale. The part i has a finger piece j by which the scale can be adjusted, and may afterwards receive a securing screw. The gauge is secured by lugs k, A central rod g passes through the tube to secure the parts and improve the visibility of the liquid level.
