Abstract

416,484. Linear - dimension gauges. ROOKE, T., Beechcroft, East Heath Road, Hampstead, London. Feb. 17, 1933, No. 4862. [Classes 106 (ii) and 106 (iv).] In a linear-dimension gauge of the dial indicator type the plunger may be formed in two parts, b, g, the abutting ends being rounded. The top portion b is provided with a screwed thread which acts as a rack engaging a pinion c journalled in the casing block a and in a dial plate secured to the block by screws. A spring d acts between a screw plug abutment e<1> and the plunger which at the upper end is hollow and in part houses the spring. The lower part g of the plunger has a shoulder and a reduced portion h passing through a tubular casing f screwed into the block. A set screw p engages a slot in the screw which slot may be spirally formed to give a convenient ratio of transmission. The dial plate is formed in one with a bezel to receive a cover glass.
