Fixed - chamber apparatus, varying quantity measured in.-A detachable frame adapted to form one side of a measuring chamber has mounted therein a glass panel, the inner surface of which is definitely located relatively to the inner surface of the frame so that the frame can be removed and a similar one substituted. The container body 1 is provided with flanges 2, 3, 4, 4. To the, flanges 2, 3 are connected respectively a flange 5 on the inlet valve casing, and a bridge piece 6 communi. cating with a second chamber. Glass panels 7 are dovetailed into frames 10 which are secured to the flanges 4 by bolts 10<1>. The inner surfaces of the panels are set to a definite position, in the present case, flush with the frame 10. The panels 7 are grooved at 11 to render the surface of the liquid clearly visible. The inner surface of the frames and the flanges 4 are machined and the frames provided with grooves in which are located gaskets 12. The lower ends of the frames are provided with hooks 14 which pass through slots in the flanges 5. The upper ends of the frames are provided with slots 16 adapted to register with a slot 17 formed in a flange 18 on the bridge piece 6. A rod 19 with a head 20 at one end and a hole at the other is pushed through the slots 16 and sealed at the hole end.
