320,250. Blaber, P. O., Wright, R. L., and Hawkins, E. A. Oct. 23, 1928. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Plumb-rules.-In a level or plumb-rule of the kind comprising a pendulum 3 pivoted within a straight-edge &c. 1 and provided with a pointer 8 co-operating with a scale 9, the scale is marked on a plate 10 mounted in a recess 2 in the straight-edge and the pin 7 by which the pendulum is pivoted bears in bosses 5, 6, the boss 6 being formed on the plate 10 and the boss 5 being formed on a plate 13 connected to the plate 10 by screws 12 surrounded by distance pieces 14 interposed between the members 10, 13. The compartment 2 is covered by a detachable plate 15 having a window 17 through which the pointer and scale can be seen.
