Colour photography. - In a camera in which the entrant beam is analysed by a transmitting reflector, inclined to the axis of the beam, which divides the beam into two parts which pass through colour filters and are received on sensitive surfaces lying in planes inclined to each other, and in which the reflector is formed by cementing together to form a block two prisms, the cemented face of one of which constitutes the transmitting reflector, (1) a colour filter is arranged in or on the prism block and (2) the block is mounted in the camera in a universally adjustable manner. In the form shown, prisms 3, 4 are cemented together at their hypothenuse faces, the cemented face of the prism 3 being made semi-transparent, as by platinizing or silvering, or by cathode discharge. An entrant beam is divided at this face into a reflected beam passing through a colour filter 10 to form an image upon a sensitive film 12, and a transmitted beam which passes through a colour filter 5 in the prism joint, and also a filter 16, to form an image upon a sensitive film 15. The filters 10, 16 which are formed on the prism faces, are optional. A colour filter 36 may be placed in the path of the entrant beam. The block is held in a metal carrier 17, having bearing surfaces 18, formed as parts of a sphere, which are engaged by corresponding surfaces upon annular members 21, 22 held in a tubular mount 24 by locking rings 25, 26. The carrier may be adjusted about three axes at right-angles by screws 27, 28 and 32. The construction perrnits ready interchange of prism blocks.
