Abstract
354,843. Kinematograph apparatus. WILLIAMS, J. D., 82, Portland Place, London.-(Schwartz, G. ; 212, Avenue Raspail, Paris.) May 17, 1930, No. 15238. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (ii).] Cylindrical reflectors are used to compress or expand the photographic image or projected picture in one dimension. The system may comprise, as shown in the Figure, a convex cylindrical mirror 16 and a convex cylindrical lens 11, and may be combined with right-angled prisms for aligning the optical axes of the system and also with a collimating system comprising a convex and a concave spherical lens. A convex and a concave cylindrical mirror may be employed in conjunction with an inverting prism. Rightangled prisms with cylindrically curved hypotenuses may be employed in conjunction with plane mirrors.
