Abstract

1378656 Fundus camera NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 11 Sept 1972 [24 Sept 1971] 44636/71 Heading G2J A fundus camera, i.e. a camera for photographing the back interior surface of the eye, see Fig.1 (not shown) has an illumination unit comprising a point light source 20 at the centre of curvature of a concave mirror 21, and a lens system which includes an axicon 23. The axicon may be a prism having one face conical, as shown, or having two faces conical, or it may be a lens having one face conical and one spherical. The axicon enables an annular image 24 to be formed without using a grid (10).
