Abstract
624,983. Optical projection systems. SLEEPER, G. E. July 21, 1947, Nos. 19448 and 19449. Convention dates, Feb. 5, 1943, and Aug. 30, 1943. [Class 97 (i)] [Also in Group XL (b)] A quadchromatic lens system used in colour television systems (see Group XL (b)) comprises a lens 40 (Fig. 3) which forms an image of an object 10 on four prisms 41, 42, 43, 44 adjusted relative to lens 40 and to each other so as to produce four images of the object. Associated with each prism are colour filters 45, 46, 47, 48. A second lens 49 projects the four colour images 12, 13, 14, 15 on to a screen 16. In a modification, Fig. 4, mirrors are substituted for the prisms and four images of the object 10 are reflected by the mirrors 50, 51, 52, 53 on to mirrors 54, 55, 56, 57 which reflect the separate images through colour filters 45, 46, 47, 48 to the lens 49 and thence on to the screen 16. Both systems may be used in reverse to form one composite coloured image from four separate monochromatic images.
