Abstract

237,808. Marie, R. Jan. 23, 1025. Materials, fibrous.-Fibres suitable for papermaking are recovered from materials such as old pneumatic tyres by cutting them into small fragments and introducing them through the opening 17, Fig. 1, into a casing 3. The upper part of the casing is covered with serrated steel plates 15, the sides 16 of the casing are serrated radially, and the lower part is formed as a grating 20. The fragments are beaten by a device comprising a number of plates 6 keyed to the shaft 1 and carrying arms 7 to the extremities of which are pivoted blocks 9 with serrated surfaces.
