Abstract
655,506. Defibrating paper pulp. LAVISTE, C. July 16, 1948, No. 19111. Convention date, July 18, 1947. [Class 96] [Also in Group II] Paper pulp &c., supplied at 13, is defibrated between bars 6 on a rotor 2 and stator bars 8 supported on rings 12 surrounding the rotor, the bars 8 being spaced apart from each other so as to provide passageways between them, defibrated pulp being propelled through the passageways and into a compartment 10 surrounding the stator, by centrifugal action of the rotor 2. Pulp from the outlet 11 may be re-circulated. In a modified construction, pulp &c. is supplied from both ends of the machine into the interior of the rotor and passes between the bars 6 as well as the bars 8.
