Closure members, interconnected. - An automatic shut - off attachment, more particularly for use in faucets for cutting off the fluid supply when the main valve is withdrawn for repair or removal, comprises a seating- ring 4 forced within the inlet A of the faucet, and held by frictional contact therein, and a conical closure member 2 which is drawn towards the seating-ring by a spring 5 having an abutment against a fluted nut 6 looked in an adjusted position on the spindle 1 by a lock-nut 7. In normal use the main valve C of the faucet holds the shut-off closure member 2 in the open position. The attachment may be used in pipes and pipe fittings, or other positions, as a pressure release valve or as a check valve. The end of the closure member 2 is slotted to receive a screwdriver for adjustment purposes.
