Abstract

154,185. Sundberg, E. L. Nov. 14, 1919, [Convention date]. Valves actuated indirectly.-A valve device for closing the supply conduit when the main valve is removed, is positively moved towards its seat by the movement of the main valve so that the flow may be largely reduced without entirely removing the main valve. The device comprises a valve spindle 3 formed with a right-angle passage 8, 9 and adapted to work through a partition 2 secured in a casing 1 to allow a chamfered valve member 4 to engage a seat 5. The spindle is further provided with a cross-piece 6 having screw threads to engage the casing 1 and shaped to engage slots formed in the tail 7 of the main valve.
