Abstract

236,674. Neate, R. W. April 14, 1924. Bowden mechanism. - A detachable connection for a length of flexible tubular casing extending between a tractor and a trailer vehic'e for the passage therethrough of a cable for operating the brakes on t.he trailer from the tractor comprises short pieces 4 of metal tube on the ends of the casing adapted to fit into sleeve members 5 fixed one on the tractor and the other on the trailer. The pieces 4 may have a bayonetslot connection 9 with the sleeves 5 and be kept in engagement by springs 12. The length of cable 1 which passes through the casing is connected by spring shackles to the adjacent parts of cables extending to the operating means on the tractor and the brakes on the trailer.
