Abstract
316,977. Henry, E. A. Aug. 7, 1928, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Couplings for tractors.-A tow rope 9 is kept taut by means of a grooved disc 5 having a hub 4 upon which a spiral spring 6 is secured. The disc is housed in a casing 1 which is mounted adjustably on one of the vehicles. Attachment may be by means of threaded rods carrying nuts, passing through holes in an annular plate and threaded into holes in a ring 17 attached to the casing 1, some framework part being gripped between the plate and ring. The cable-end which may be secured to the drum by welding, riveting or wedging may be housed in a spiral shaped groove. A spring and stirrup form the means of attachment of the other end of the rope.
