Abstract
322,475. Ludwig, H., and Stempelwerk Ges. Sept. 3, 1928. Vibration-dampers.-In apparatus of the oneway type in which a brake band 4 connected to the axle is led over and secured to a drum 2 controlled by a spring so as to tension the band, a spring friction member 7 is interposed between two turns of the band. The drum is rotatably mounted on the pin 10 projecting from the base plate 1. A pin 5 secures the base plate to the frame of the vehicle and its outer end is connected to the outer end of the pin 10 by a plate 11, forming a stop against which a pin 12 on the drum 2 bears. The spring 7 interposed between the two parts of the band is held at one end by a flange 8 projecting from the base 1. The apparatus may be adjusted about the pin 10 by means of a bolt 14 screwed into a lug 15 on the base plate 1 and bearing against the frame. The shape and method of securing the spring may be modified and one alternative method of adjusting the apparatus about the pin 10 is described.
