Abstract
224,555. Oyston, W. R. Nov. 9, 1923, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Vibration-dampers.-Recoil of the suspension springs of a motor vehicle is damped by means of a flexible strap connected at one end to a helical spring and so disposed in relation to the frame and axle that it is tensioned during the recoil movement. As shown, the strap C is secured at one end B to the axle A and passes over a saddle or friction surface G on the frame F, the free end of the spring D being secured at E to the frame F. Means for adjusting the tension of the spring may be provided. In a modification, the end B of the strip is also secured to the frame and the strap passes under a saddleon the axle.
