Abstract

233,476. Marks, E. C. R., (Toledo Scale Co.). March 4, 1924. Pendulum-weight apparatus.-In a weighing scale employing a pendulum of the rolling sector type the power sector of the pendulum is adjustably mounted on, and has its outer face curved eccentrically to, the face of the fulcrum sector. As shown, a pendulum 30 is suspended at each side by a flexible band 7 passing round a fulcrum sector 6 which rolls upon a vertical track (not shown). The pull due to the load is applied to a flexible band 15 passing over a power sector 12 and attached to a finger 13 secured to the fulcrum sector. The surface of the power sector 12 is eccentric to the surface of the fulcrum sector in order to produce equal movements of the indicating pointer for equal increments of load, and the power sector may be adjusted by means of screws 22, 23 to bring the sector into correct operation with the band. By this arrangement the zero position of the indicating pointer, actuated by the usual rack 19, is substantially unaffected by adjustment of the power sector upon the fulcrum sector.
