187,283. Simmance, J. F. June 20, 1921. Bourdon p r e s s u r e gauges; elastic - diaphragm pressure gauges; indicating-means for; with recording - apparatus.-Comprises improved means for operating the indicating or recording point in a differential pressure gauge. The gauge comprises two elastic containers 1, 2 mounted vertically one above the other in a frame 3 to which one end of each container is attached, the other end of one container 1 being secured to a stirrup carrying a horizontal spindle 11 provided with a crank arm 12<1> to which the other end of the other container 2 is connected. The upper container 1 is carried on a bracket 4 while the lower container is carried on a bracket 5 pivoted to the frame and provided with a projection 7 having a screw and nut adjustment 8 whereby the container 2 'can be moved towards or away from the container 1 within small limits. Mounted upon the upper container is,the horizontal arm 9 of a stirrup 10 the sides of which project to about midway between the containers and carry pivoted in their ends a shaft 11. This shaft is provided with a slotted crank or arm 12' in which is adjustably mounted one end of a link 13 pivotally connected to the upper face of the container 2. The spindle 11 is provided with a pointer or arm 14 provided with a pen 15. The arm 9 of the stirrup is connected by a link 17 with one arm of a two-armed lever 18 the other end of which supports a weight 20 to compensate for small variations in the resiliency of the chambers. From equal increments of pressure in each chamber no angular movement of the pointer results. The chambers may be of the Bourdon type. Specification 13749/10 is referred to.
