Abstract

230,937. Billson, F. Dec. 27. 1923. Circular machines.-Relates to the use of a thread-guide plate C from which bearded needles of the independently operated type may take yarn and draw loops without requiring auxiliary appliances such as bladed wheels. The plate C lies close to and parallel with the needle line and the eye E is set so as to deliver the main yarn F at an angle of about 15‹ with the top of the needle cylinder. There may be an additional eye J for a plating yarn. The needles are given a short rest before actually drawing loops at M and the final movement is effected by a cam which operates not more than two needles at one time. Preferably a fixed presser is used and the needles are held up to it by a plate N.
