Abstract

226,399. Parker, D. W., and Parker Rotary Stone Saw Co. Feb. 23,1924. Sawing.-A rotary stone saw 25 is mounted on a spindle 24 driven by a motor 29 through bevel gearing 26 and a shaft 27. The spindle is supported in a frame 22, and can be adjusted angularly in a vertical plane by means of worms 38, driven through reversing bevel gearing 34 from the shaft 217. The frame is mounted on a platform 11, on which it is traversed horizontally by means of screws 40 which are rotated by bevel gearing from a vertical shaft 46, and the platform 11 is moved vertically by means of screws 13 mounted on a wheeled carriage 7 running on rails 3, on which it may be moved by means of worm gearing 69 actuated by a shaft 70. The screws 13 and the shafts 46, 70, are driven from a motor 60 through reversing friction gearing .55, separate clutches being provided. Shot is fed to the saw from a trough 81, to which it is returned from a bottom trough 76 by a bucket-chain 79. An adjustable guide 86 embraces the saw-blade.
