Abstract

281,835. Williams, A. H. Aug. 2, 1927. Circular -saw machines.- In a machine for cutting bevel-ended bars from stock, such as are used for metal window frames, two circularsaws 3 are arranged at right-angles in a head 1 which is fed across the work a. The saws are driven by worm wheels 6 from a sprocket wheel 14 sliding on a motordriven shaft 15. The same motor also drives through a reversing gearbox 19 (not shown in detail) a shaft 18 for traversing the head, which shaft may also be rotated by hand. Automatic trip reversing gear may be added for the traverse.
