Abstract

226,139. Kundig, E. Sept. 10, 1923. Land-wheels.-The engine 25 for driving the propellers 26 of an aeroplane, is adapted to be coupled to a rear land wheel 12 by means of a clutch 24 operated by a lever 28 in the pilot's seat, the transmission comprising a chain 21 and sprocket 20, which rotates a shaft 16 carrying bevel gear 19 in mesh with a bevel gear 15 mounted on the axle 14 of the rear wheel 12.
