Abstract
224,531. Le Bret, L. Nov. 8, 1923, [Convention date]. Cam-actuated pumps; stroke, varying; reciprocating-cylinder pumps; revolving-cylinder pumps. -A pump for delivering liquid to several points comprises a drum 4 rotated by gearing 2, 3 and reciprocated by cam members 8, 9 corresponding in number to the feed points. The cams 8 are delivery cams and the single cam 9 effects both suction and delivery. The cams run in a track bounded above by a delivery cam race 12 and below bv a number of suction cam members 10 which correspond in number to the number of feed points. The quantity of liquid delivered to each point may be varied by adjusting the corresponding cam 10 by means of a member 11, and the total quantity delivered to all points may be varied by adjusting the cam 12 by means of the screw 14. The drum 4 has a bore 5 containing the stationary plunger 6 and inlet and delivery channels 15, 17 communicating respectively during the suction and delivery strokes with the suction and delivery pipes 16, 18. In another form, the drum 4 is integral with the gear-wheel 3 and the plunger is carried by the cam-plate 7 and reciprocates in a bore in the upper end of the drum 4.
