Abstract
224,178. Dunkley, W. H. May 27, 1924. Springs, arrangement of; guiding vertical play; push-bars; draught springs, arrangement of.-A suspension, particularly for hand-propelled vehicles such as perambulators, comprises rigid lever arms 4 of bowed form, pivoted at one end 5 to the chassis 6, attached intermediate of their ends to the axles 2 and extending at their other ends to points above the chassis where they are associated with coiled springs, rubber cords &c. As shown, the upwardly extending ends of the arms are connected to the chassis by springs 7. The handle 9 pivoted to the chassis at 5 is connected by a link 10 to the end 11 of one of the arms 4. In a modification, the springs 7 are replaced by a compression spring interposed between the ends of the arms 4, and the handle is an integral extension of one of the arms.
