Cage and platform lifts ; pulley-tackle machines and apparatus.-In lifts in which the hoisting rope n is passed round sheaves g, h which are driven independently at various speeds and in the same or opposite direction by electric motors e, f, the sheaves are driven through worm gearing l, m and the control system for the motors is of any usual form, including automatic devices for starting and stopping at predetermined floors or 'other levels. Electric lifting machines, hoists, and cranes may be fitted with the winding apparatus.
