Abstract

Stopping automatically at end of run ; regulating and control-transmitting gear for winding and paying-out apparatus.-In a service lift the spindle j<1> of the switch j<4> controlling the hoisting motor a is connected by an arm k and chain l to a brake lever g acting on a drum e on the motor shaft, the arrangement being such that when the switch is closed, the brake is off, and vice versa. An endless rope n provided with stops n<1> is passed round sheaves o at the top and bottom of the well and is passed also once round a sheave j<3> on the spindle j<1>. At the end of the run a projection b<1> on the lift engages one of the stops n' thereby moving the rope n and causing the rotation of the spindle j<1>. The power is thus cut off and the brake applied. The rope n may be replaced by a slidable rod. Means may be provided for rotating the spindle j<1> from the upper floor.
