Abstract
219,517. Measurement, Ltd., and Holden, F. Aug. 29, 1923. Mercury motor meters.-The mercury chamber d is adapted to be sealed for transit by a cored plug a which is frictionally held on the armature spindle b, for example by making a saw-cut to impart resilience to the sleeve a' of the plug a, or by a spring f entering a slot in the sleeve a' and bearing against the spindle b. The sealing- plug may be moved by a spring-controlled lever e actuated by a cam g which may be operated by a lever h, the end of which is located in a chamber adapted to be sealed. The cam g is so formed that in one position it forces the plug a into contact with the conical aperture in the fitting c of the mercury chamber d, and in the other position the plug a is raised and the lever e disengaged from the flanges of the sleeve a<1>. The lever h or the chamber in which it is located may be marked to indicate the open and closed position.
