Abstract

331,359. Liquid Measurements, Ltd., and Smith, B. L. Philips-. June 8, 1929. Liquid-meters. - The automatically-operated stop-valve 1 of a meter is held open against spring action by a catch 8 engaging a recessed member 10; when the desired quantity has passed through the meter, the pointer 25 contacts with a fixed or adjustable member 29 and an electromagnet 13 is energized to withdraw the catch. The circuit includes a switch comprising a ball 21 in a pivotally mounted tube 18 which is operatively connected to the valve so that this switch is closed when the valve is open and vice versa.
