Abstract

207,947. Saunders, S. M. Oct. 17, 1922. Lift valves.-A screw-down valve suitable for use with radiators comprises a. casing a threaded internally to receive a sleeve e which is flanged internally to receive a collar g<2> formed on the valve spindle g. The spindle is prevented from moving longitudinally by a stuffing box f, and is provided with a quick threaded part g' which engages with a corresponding part in the closure member h. The upper end of the spindle g receives a cap j, and a handle k screws transversely through it. The casing is closed by a cover i. The closure member h is prevented from rotating by means of a transverse pin engaging with a slot in the sleeve e.
