Brakes, arrangement and disposition. of. - A combined variable gear and brake mechanism is provided on the propeller shaft between the ordinary gear-box and the differential. The extra gear-box a and brake casing f are bolted together and are provided with sleeves b, h fitting into or over the respective sections c, j of the torque tube. The brake drum 12 is mounted on the tail shaft s directly connected to the differential gear.
