Abstract

218,226. Marks, E. C. R., (Frankonia- Ring Ges.). Feb. 28, 1924. Treadle mechanism.-In a scooter adapted to be propelled by a treadle or by pushing on the ground with one foot, the treadle 11, provided with an arm 10, drives the rear wheel through a rod 9 and toothed wheels 8, 7, the rod 9 having a separable hook connection with a pin on the arm 10, this connection being locked and unlocked by means of a sliding sleeve 9<a>. The spring 12 which effects the return of the treadle 11 is connected to a lever 14 pivoted at 15, which lever, when turned down into the position shown in dotted lines, puts the spring out of action.
