Abstract

220,451. Joseph, R. Aug. 3, 1923. Foot-cycles.-A toy vehicle adapted to be used either as a hobby horse or as a scooter by adjusting the height of the seat or platform comprises two rear wheels b (or in a modification a single rear wheel) carried by a pair of pivoted arms c, and one or two front wheels h mounted on a steering-pillar g slidably adjustable in a socket f. When the seat or platform d is in the raised position shown, the toy is used as a hobby horse, the arms c being locked by means of a strut c' and a transverse bolt k. When the device is to be used as a scooter, the arms c are turned back into line with the platform d and locked by passing the bolt k through other holes l<2> in the side flanges j of the platform, and the pillar g is moved up through the socket f, thus bringing the platform d close to the ground. The steering- pillar may be made telescopic, and fitted with a detachable handle-bar. Pedals with or without gearing may be added.
