Abstract

217,659. Hargreaves, H. Oct. 10, 1923. Tension arrangements.-A yarn tension-device having a curved surface 5 is provided with flanges 6, which limit the travel of the yarn as it is moved over the surface by the traverse guide and so ensure the winding of firm ends of the yarn package 7. The device is adjustable relatively to the guide rod 19 so as to vary the are of contact of the yarn with the surface. When winding conical packages the surface forms a section of a cone arranged reversely to that of the package.
