Abstract

190,036. Tomlinson, W., and Tomlinson, F., (Tomlinson, T.). Jan. 13, 1922. Tension arrangements; creel arrangements. - Relates to tension devices for winding or spooling machines of the kind wherein a ball rests in a correspondingly shaped cup and presses upon the yarn which runs through a slot in the cup. The cup comprises a conical cupshaped bracket A open at the top and bottom with perfectly straight interior walls, and the slot is provided with arms a<2>, a<3>, Fig. 3, to facilitate threading. The bracket is attached to the traverse rail. A wire guard C is fitted to prevent accidental displacement of the ball. The delivery bobbins are supported on holders H on a rail F attached to brackets on the lifting-poker so as to move with the tension device and the thread guide.
