Abstract

216,702. Clark, J. June, 18, 1923. Benches, work. - In trestle supports, particularly those for supporting long and heavy objects such as beams or girders over a machine table for machining purposes, of the kind having a supporting roller carried bv brackets verticallv adjustable between the side members, the roller is hollow and mounted on eccentrics on a shaft mounted in the brackets so that the vertical position of the roller may be adjusted, whilst the trestle is loaded, by rotating the shaft. The roller in the form of a loose tube A is mounted on eccentric, portions B<1> of a shaft B carried by brackets D supported by links H having pins H<1> engaging notches G<1> in the end frames G. The shaft B is rotatable by means of a lever C or other device such as a worm gear. Rollers F may be interposed between the tube A and the eccentrics B<1> to reduce friction.
