Abstract

Alkaline earth arsenates are made by heating an alkaline earth arsenite or a mixture of alkaline earth oxide or hydroxide with arsenious acid, in a gas containing free oxygen. The arsenite may be obtained by boiling a suspension in water of calcium hydroxide and arsenious acid. The arsenate may be produced at a temperature of about 450 DEG C.
