Abstract

215,541. Sterrick, H. D. April 16, 1923. Hollow and telescopic handles; fixing by self-grip sockets. - In shaving brushes formed either with or without an annular massage device and of the kind in which the brush head telescopes inside the handle, a series of inwardly projecting radial teeth 10, preferably tapered as shown, are formed inside the forward end of the handle, which teeth co-operate with the ferrule 5, preferably also tapered but to a less extent than the teeth, when the ferrule is forced into engagement therewith by means of an external pin on the ferrules projecting through a longitudinal slot with an inclined forward end formed in the handle 1. The tuft 6 is held in a ring 7 which is clamped within the ferrule and seats on ribs 8 therein. The teeth 10 act as guides for the bristles as the tuft is moved in and out.
