Abstract

155,146. Behrman, M. B. Feb. 11, 1920. Brush sheaths; bristles, fixing.-The bristle-tuft of a shaving-brush is held within two ferrules the outer ferrule 14 at the middle being connected, as by beadings 26, 25, to the inner ferrule 12 leaving two annular end-spaces 15, 16 to receive the end of a split handle 17, 18, respectively when the brush is in or out of use, the handle in the latter case serving as a sheath. The sections of the handle may be hinged at 19, and one section is provided with a semi-circular band 23 having extended ends to maintain registration between the sections. A dome-shaped cap 24 may be brazed or wedged into the upper end of the ferrule 12 and assists in holding the tuft in the tapered lower part of the ferrule.
