Abstract

287,022. Ryser, W. Nov. 15, 1927. Fixing by screwed sockets and tangs. -A toothbrush with a readily removable bristle head comprises a head 1 with threaded hole 4, a rod 5 secured to the handle 2 and threaded at its forward end, a connecting piece 3 sliding on the rod and having a concaved end 6 engaging the rounded end of the head to prevent it rotating, a spring 8 in a recess 7 in the connection 3 and a collar 9 on the rod 5 limiting the forward movement of the connecting piece. The spring is compressed when the rod is screwed into the brush head and holds the parts tightly together. The meeting ends of the brush head and connecting piece may be flat, relative rotation being prevented by studs on the connecting piece engaging holes in the end of the head.
