and useful Improvement in Toothbrushes,
of which the following is a-speciflcation.
rIhis invention has relation to new and useful improvements in tooth-brushes, and
the specific object of this invention is the provision of a brush of thischaracter having a handle which may be used in either a parallel or angular positionrelative to the part carrying the bristles, thus adapting the brush to a more Vhandy position for the operator.
In cleaning the teeth, an up and down motion of the brush serves to more efficiently remove all foreign matter therefrom. To
facilitate the manipulation of theV brush with this motion, I have provided a brush with the handle angularly disposed relative thereto, and capable of being reversed so that the brush may be used similar in manner to the ordinary brush. Nith the handle in angular position to the bristle carrying portion, my improved brush may be employed with greater facility for cleaning the inner side of the teeth, and is equally handy for cleaning the rear as well astheV front teeth.
To this end, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts, as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed. Y Y
For a complete understanding of my invention, reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a side view of my improved tooth-brush, in which the handle is reversible to either parallel or angular position relative to the bristle carrying part. Fig. 2 is a fragmentary view of the same. Fig.
l4:5 3 is a fragmentary view showing the detail construction of the brush shown in Figs. 1 and 2. v
AReferring to the drawings, my improved Serial No. 524,462.
From the foregoing description and drawings, it maybe seen that I have provided a simple Vand eflicient tooth-brush, in
which the handle may be reversed in position relative to theibrush, which greatly facilitates the manipulation of the brush vertically land in an effective manner.
What is claimed is:
1. A brush embodying a bristle-supporting plate and bristles thereon, an angular boss on the back of the plate and integral therewith, a stud mounted on the boss, a beveled and circulan-head on the stud, a handle, and flattened and spring ends on the handle, engaging respectively, Vwith the angular boss and with the beveled head on the stud. Y v
2. A brush embodying a bristle-supportingplate and bristles thereon, an angular and beveled boss on the back of the plate and integral therewith, a stud projecting centrally from the angular boss, a beveled head on the stud, a handle for the plate, and iatened and spring ends on the handle and engaging respectively, with the angular and beveled boss and with the beveled head, said boss serving to maintain the handle inalignment with the plate in one position, and in angular position to the plate in the opposite position.
In testmony whereof, I hereunto affix my signature.
ANNAM. PACHMAYR.
