Fixing by screwed sockets with barb holding - devices. - A split screwed socket for securing a handle in the socket of a broom head or the like, is made from sheet metal with a groove or grooves pressed in it to form a helical projection or thread 3 on the outside wider than the projection 2 on the inside. Projections or teeth 7 may be made on the outside thread 3; and projections 8 may be formed to engage the head to prevent rotation.
