Fixing by screwed sockets.-The handles B of carpet-sweepers, vacuum cleaners, and similar machines, screwing into a socket on a pivoted bail, have the screwed end armoured with a soliddrawn tube or sleeve A of hard brass or other metal provided with a longitudinal indentation a to prevent rotation. The sleeve is preferably tapered, and is forced into the threads on the handle end by a die or other tool.
