Abstract

201,423. Dyson, 0., and McVean, J. Aug. 14, 1922. Handles with recessed-back retaining-devices for brushes. -Brushes of the kind having the bristle-carrying part removably secured in a recessed back, are constructed with a bristle part 3 formed with a projection 8 at one end adapted to enter a socket on the back part in which is a spring which presses the other end of the bristle part into engagement with a fixed retaining device. In the brush shown, the back 2 has a handle 4 which contains a tubular socket 5 enclosing a spring 6 and plunger 7 which presses the part 3 into engagement with an inturned flange 1 on the back.
