Abstract
510,675. Brushes etc.; hand-tool handles &c. MUCKENHIRN, O. April 27, 1939, No. 12647. [Classes 19 and 61 (i)] A device for mopping, waxing or brushing floors comprises a handle with a resilient-connection a, Fig. 1, to engage undercut ribs e on a brush &c. d. The resilient part a has a socket a‹ for the handle and a spring band b to assist its resiliency. A waxing cloth i may be secured as shown by the part a. Stops may be provided on the ribs e to prevent end movement of the part a. A handle f, Fig. 3, may be held in the socket a‹ by a spring g. In a modification, Fig. 6, a resilient upper part a is retained in the overturned edges e<3> of a plate d' attached to a pad d. Notches r in the plate d' prevent end movement of the part a. A handle f, Fig. 7, may be retained in a hinged socket a<2> by a U-shaped member m notched at n' and provided with a thread or wire n to give resilient locking. In another modification, Fig. 9, a dusting cloth is held between a metal plate d<2> and. resilient part a. An impregnated inlay p may be used to afford moist dusting.
