214,528. Kings Patent Agency, Ltd., (Nicholson, T. F.). Aug. 3, 1923. Pneumatic clutches.-A pneumatic clutch which may be fitted to a motor vehicle serving as a change-speed gear and fly-wheel comprises a flanged disc 1 carried by the engine shaft 15 carrying a number of equally spaced cylinders 2 and closed by a ribbed cover 4, pistons 8 in the cylinders connected to a crank-shaft 7 rotatably mounted in ball bearings in the disc and cover, and triangular ports 10 in the cylinder heads, these ports being opened or closed to atmosphere by grooved plungers 11. As shown, the plungers are actuated by a hand lever 12 acting on a spring-pressed collar 13 which slides on the crankshaft and is connected by levers 14 with the plungers.
