Motor wheels.-In a radial revolving cylinder engine adapted to be mounted within the wheel of a vehicle, at starting'the cylinders are stationary and the crank shafts, etc., are free and rotate, driving 'the valve cam shafts 10, 11, 12 through a 2: 1 gear. The cam shafts project through the main casing and carry two spur wheels 13, 14, which gear with wheels 15, 16 concentric with the crank shaft. On the hubs of the wheels 15, 16 are fixed brake drums one or other of which is held by a band to cause the cylinders as a whole to rotate to drive the vehicle wheel. More than two speed ratios may be provided. The upper half of the wheel and part of the engine are enclosed in a casing 32, which serves as a mudguard and for attachment of the vehicle springs.
